The observatory gets it primary power from the sun. There are six 210 watt solar panels that can generate, if required, approx 8,000 watts per day (on a good sunny day). The collected power is stored in a 24 volt, 840 ah DC battery bank that is converted to AC power by a 3,500 watt inverter. There is also a 6,000 watt LP generator that can be used for larger loads and provides backup power when solar power is not enough.
Listed below are the power generation and utilization details for the system. Data is collected from the system every second and stored in a database for later access. The default chart view is for the prior day plus the data for the current day but longer or shorter periods can be selected.
