The observatory gets it primary power from the sun. There are six 210 watt, six 320 watt, and twelve 330 watt solar panels that can generate, if required, approx 44 kW per day (on a good sunny day). The collected power is stored in a 24 volt, 1640 ah DC battery bank that is converted to AC power by a 3.5 kW inverter. There is also a 6 kW LP generator that can be used for larger loads and provides backup power when solar power is not enough.

Listed below are the power generation and utilization details for the system. Data is collected from the system every second and stored in a database for later access. The default chart view is for the prior day plus the data for the current day but longer or shorter periods can be selected.
